CHRISTOPHER ANDREWS ARCHITECT & TOWN PLANNER

CALIFORNIA INTERIORS PART I

These sketches show the proposed ground floor of  the main house of a Calistoga estate,  which comprises two "great rooms" connected by a stair hall and gallery.  The ceiling is vaulted plaster with integrally colored coffers.  The living room is shown on the left and the kitchen on the right.  The client and the architect worked with patterns inspired by A Pattern Language,  including "Farmhouse Kitchen", "Light on Two Sides of Every Room", "Ceiling Vaults" and "The Fireplace".
